We describe some of our intensive study sites in more detail and give background to the work on the farms.
QVIDJA FARM
Qvida farm in Parainen, southwestern Finland, develops regenerative agriculture and hosts Carbon Action research and training. Qvidja’smanagement principles are based on the diversity of nature and carbon sequestration.
Haltiala farm of Helsinki city works to improve the climate impact and soil health of its fields. The University of Helsinki and the Finnish Meteorological Institute monitor the development at a study site. Haltiala is one of the university’s two SMEAR-Agri sites.
Viikki Research Farm of the University of Helsinki hosts a comprehensive agricultural measurement station. Viikki is the other of the university’s two SMEAR-Agri sites.
